P15 Strategic Planning
“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” Proverbs 15:22
Overview
A well thought-out strategic plan takes into account the counsel and advice of many. The “many” refers to groups that make-up or represent organizations and those they aim to serve. Representation from all should be included in any detailed strategic planning. Our Proverbs 15:22 strategic planning process aims to ensure that every detail has been thought for your organization so you can achieve the goals outlined in your strategic plan.
We employ a five step approach to creating a strategic plan for your organization that is both practical and adaptable over time.
-
Leadership listening sessions help us get a clear picture of the current vision of the organization and where the leaders of the organization aspire to take the organization in the future. Session includes organizational strengths assessment, challenges discussion, and hypothesis statements about stakeholder data. Designed for small to medium size groups of people who have been placed in some sort of leadership capacity in the organization.
-
Stakeholder surveys and or focus group analysis provides insight into the current state of the organization and what potential gaps or areas of weaknesses will need to be addressed through the strategic plan. We use our own internally developed stakeholder questionnaire designed to get maximum participation while at the same time providing the most relevant and detailed data.
-
Detailed data analysis and goal setting sessions provide the organization with summaries from the stakeholder surveys and lead the leaders of the organization through a goal setting session aimed at understanding the data and setting a clear path forward to continual improvement. At this session we will take a dive into the data to check for alignment back to organizational level leadership predictions and see what trends or themes emerged from the data.
-
Finalizing the strategic plan is where all the data, vision, and future planning come together. Our goal in this session is to encapsulate everything we have learned throughout the process into a strategic plans that not only addresses everything it needs to but provides flexibility to adapt to unanticipated organizational change. Providing clear measurable goals and clarity of the actions that will support those goals is key.
-
Publishing the plan helps the organization to create final versions of the plan, marketing materials, presentations, or documents to share with stakeholders.
